A mentored hunting license is a type of firearm permit that enables someone to hunt for a fee with the guidance of a more experienced hunting companion. In addition to a Wisconsin hunting license, a mentored hunter must possess a valid Wisconsin handgun license and must remain within arm's length of their protege. A mentored hunter must also follow all Wisconsin hunting laws. A person under the age 18 is prohibited from possessing a hunting handgun.
